Commissions in Introw: a complete walkthrough

Full overview of Introw's commission module — from plans and payout settings to processing payouts and the partner-facing experience.

Written by Wouter Moyaert

This article walks you through everything you need to know about the commission module in Introw — from setting up your first plan to processing payouts and the experience your partners get on the other side.

1. Commission plans

The commission plans section is where you define your commission structure. You can create as many plans as you need — for example, a revenue-sharing plan and a fixed-fee plan running side by side.

To help you get started quickly, Introw offers default templates for common structures, including:

  • Fixed fee per qualified lead plan

  • Revenue sharing plan

  • Tiered annual commission plan

However, you are entirely free to build plans from scratch and make them as complex as your business requires.

Plan basics

  • Name — give the plan a clear name so your partners understand what it entitles them to (e.g. RevShare).

  • Effective date — only deals after this date are eligible. For example, set May 20th and only deals closing on or after that date qualify.

  • Data source — today plans are calculated on your CRM data. Stripe and Chargebee subscription/invoice data are coming soon, so commissions can be calculated directly on recurring revenue.

  • Object & commission date — pick the object the commission is calculated on (typically the deal) and the date field that defines eligibility (e.g. Close date). When that deal is within that date range, the deal becomes eligible.

Conditions

Conditions decide which deals are eligible. You can combine any property from your CRM and any Introw data (including partner attribution).

  • Example: isClosedWon = true + deal type = New deal.

  • You can layer on additional filters — e.g. contract duration > 365 days — to only reward longer commitments or deal amount > 10000 $ to reward higher deal values.

  • You can also use partner attribution to pay more or less depending on who sourced the deal.

A live preview shows exactly which deals from your CRM match the rules. If a deal is missing or shouldn't be there, adjust the filters until the preview matches your intent.

Rewards

Define how partners get paid:

  • Fixed fee or percentage-based reward.

  • Percentages can be applied to any amount property on the deal — amount, contract value, recurring revenue, etc.

  • Frequency: one-time, monthly, quarterly, yearly, and more.

  • Tiered rewards: configure a different reward per partner tier or segment.

  • Maximum reward: cap the eligible amount — e.g. include the first $10K, exclude anything above.

Enrollment

Choose which partners (via segments) are enrolled in the plan. A partner can be enrolled in multiple plans at the same time — for example, a revenue-share plan and a $100 fixed fee per closed-won deal — and both will be calculated on the same deals.

2. The commission overview

After you have created a commission plan and you open the commission module, you land on the commission overview. From here you get a clear view of:

  • How much commission is still pending

  • What is coming up in upcoming payouts

  • What has already been paid out to your partners

💡 Introw tip: An explanation of each status can be found by clicking the ℹ️ icon in the upper right corner.

3. Payout settings

Payouts bundle eligible deals together so you can pay your partners in one go.

  • Frequency: monthly, quarterly, yearly, or manual. Introw automatically creates the payout detail for you.

  • Minimum payout amount: commission payouts below this threshold are rolled into the next payout — useful for avoiding tiny transactions (e.g. anything under $50).

3. Processing payouts

In the payouts view you see an overview of all pending commissions, upcoming payments, and the total already paid.

Reviewing a payout

Open a payout (e.g. April) and you'll see every eligible partner with their line items. For each partner you can:

  • See each commission line item with a direct link back to the deal.

  • Mark commissions as paid or unpaid as an admin — every change is tracked in the comments and activity.

  • View the partner's uploaded invoice file when applicable.

Draft commissions

Commissions that still need processing sit in draft and are not visible yet for the partner within their portal. From here you can:

  • Add a PO number.

  • Request the invoice — your partner is notified to upload their invoice so you can process the payment.

  • Add a manual line item — for example an "extra effort fee" of $250 for a deal not captured in your CRM.

Once the partner has received their statement by email or when visiting the portal, they can upload the invoice (or include it as attachment by replying on the e-mail, so they don't need to go into the portal). From your side you can then mark the commission as paid, or push it to the next payment cycle.

4. The partner experience

Inside the partner portal, your partners get a dedicated Commission tab where they can see:

  • Expected commission they're entitled to.

  • Upcoming payments.

  • Total amount paid to date.

Drilling into a paid payout shows every line item and links back to the originating deal, with the exact amount paid. Drilling into a specific deal shows partners the breakdown of what's already been paid, what's upcoming, and what's still pending approval but scheduled.

Clicking through to the details, a partner can see exactly why they're entitled to a commission — which plan it came from, the percentage or fixed fee, and the status of each line item (paid, upcoming, pending).

Recap

The commission module is fully flexible and CRM-driven. You have the freedom to design any reward structure — tiered, capped, fixed, percentage, or combined — and Introw handles eligibility, bundling, statements, partner notifications, and payout tracking end-to-end.
