Overview
Segments are a centralized way to group partners and their contacts based on properties you define. Once set up, segments control what partners see and what actions they can take inside the portal.
Setting up a segment
Navigate to Settings → Segments and click Create Segment.
Segments can be defined at two levels:
Partner (Company) Level
Filter based on properties of the partner organization. For example:
Type = ResellerCountry = United StatesTier = Gold
Contact Level
Filter based on properties of individual contacts within a partner. For example:
Role = Sales Rep, Technical engineerLanguage = EnglishCertified = Yes
Give your segment a clear name, configure your filters, and save. The segment is now available to use across experiences, quote settings, and profile permissions.
Applying Segments
Tabs: Open an Experience, select a tab, and set its visibility to a specific segment under Visibility settings.
Quotes: Go to Settings → Quotes and restrict quote creation to one or more segments.
Profile editing: Go to Settings → Partner Profile and limit edit permissions by segment.
Use cases across the platform
Segments aren't limited to tabs and quotes — they act as a single targeting layer that an increasing number of Introw features build on. Once a partner or contact matches a segment, that same segment can drive what they can see, earn, and do throughout the portal. Common use cases include:
Assets — restrict asset visibility by segment, so only matching partners can access specific files or collections.
Announcements — target announcements to specific segments instead of broadcasting to every partner.
Tiers — tier assignment is segment-aware, so partners can be placed into tiers based on the segments they match.
Courses — enroll partners into courses by segment to tailor learning paths.
Certifications — award certifications by segment.
Deal Coach — scope Deal Coach guidance per segment.
CPQ / Discounts — apply pricing and discount rules per segment.
KPIs / Goals — track goals and KPIs per segment.
Permissions & notifications — set collaboration and invite options per segment, and trigger segment-based notifications — for example, sending deal updates only to partners collaborating on those deals.
Good to Know
Partners can belong to multiple segments — access is granted if they match at least one.
Segment membership updates in real time as partner properties change.
Tabs and features without a segment restriction remain visible to all partners by default.
