Overview

Segments are a centralized way to group partners and their contacts based on properties you define. Once set up, segments control what partners see and what actions they can take inside the portal.

What you can do with segments

  • Unlock tabs in experiences — show or hide tabs based on a partner's segment, so the right content is revealed at the right stage of the journey.

  • Gate quote creation — restrict which partners are allowed to create quotes.

  • Gate partner profile editing — control which partners or contacts can edit their profile.

Setting up a segment

Navigate to Settings → Segments and click Create Segment.

Segments can be defined at two levels:

Partner (Company) Level

Filter based on properties of the partner organization. For example:

  • Type = Reseller

  • Country = United States

  • Tier = Gold

Contact Level

Filter based on properties of individual contacts within a partner. For example:

  • Role = Sales Rep, Technical engineer

  • Language = English

  • Certified = Yes

Give your segment a clear name, configure your filters, and save. The segment is now available to use across experiences, quote settings, and profile permissions.

Applying Segments

  • Tabs: Open an Experience, select a tab, and set its visibility to a specific segment under Visibility settings.

  • Quotes: Go to Settings → Quotes and restrict quote creation to one or more segments.

  • Profile editing: Go to Settings → Partner Profile and limit edit permissions by segment.

Good to Know

  • Partners can belong to multiple segments — access is granted if they match at least one.

  • Segment membership updates in real time as partner properties change.

  • Tabs and features without a segment restriction remain visible to all partners by default.
