Using Introw with ChatGPT via MCP

How to connect Introw to ChatGPT via MCP, so you can query partner data and take action in Introw without leaving ChatGPT.

Chasing partner data across tabs, portals and spreadsheets is where hours quietly disappear. Connect Introw to ChatGPT so you can search partner data, pull together account research, manage deals and tasks, and take action in Introw — all without leaving the assistant you already have open.

How it works

The integration uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that lets AI models like ChatGPT connect securely to the tools you already use.

When you connect ChatGPT to Introw:

  1. ChatGPT authenticates on your behalf using your Introw credentials.

  2. Every query is scoped to your user permissions — the exact same access rules that apply when you log into Introw directly.

  3. No data bleeds across users. A partner manager sees their partners and deals. An admin sees what an admin sees. Your data stays yours, always.

ChatGPT becomes a smart, always-on layer on top of your existing Introw access — not a workaround, not a shortcut, but a genuinely better way to stay on top of your partner ecosystem.

Overview

Setup is split between workspace administrators, who add Introw as a custom app one time, and end users, who authenticate their own Introw account. Here are the values you'll need:

Configuration parameter

Value

App name

Introw

MCP Server URL

Your Introw MCP URL — copied from Settings → Integrations (see Step 2 below)

Authentication type

OAuth

💡 One prerequisite. Adding a custom MCP connector in ChatGPT requires Developer Mode, available on eligible paid ChatGPT plans. On Business, Enterprise and Edu a workspace admin turns it on once and can publish Introw to the whole team; on Plus and Pro you enable it yourself. Check OpenAI's guide for the current plan details.

For administrators (setting up the connection)

This only needs to be done once. After this, everyone on your team can connect their own Introw account to ChatGPT in seconds.

  • Step 1 – Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT
As a workspace admin, go to Workspace Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data and toggle Developer mode / Create custom MCP connectors on. This unlocks the option to add a custom app.

  • Step 2 – Copy your Introw MCP URL
Inside your Introw workspace, go to Settings → Integrations, find the ChatGPT integration and click Copy MCP Server URL: https://app.introw.io/api/mcp

=> Copy it from this page so you don't mistype it — you'll need it in the next step.

  • Step 3 – Add Introw as a custom app in ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps → Create. Set the name to Introw, paste the MCP Server URL you copied, and choose OAuth as the authentication method. Review the third-party app warning and click Create.

  • Step 4 – Publish it to your team
On Business, Enterprise and Edu, publish the Introw app so it appears for everyone in your workspace. Once published, Introw shows up in each teammate's Apps settings, ready to connect.

The admin setup is done. The Introw app is now available to your team in ChatGPT. Each team member follows the steps below to start using it.

For end users

Once your admin has published the Introw app, connecting your own account takes less than a minute.

Step 1 – Open Apps in ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps and find Introw in the list. Click Connect.

Step 2 – Authorise via OAuth
ChatGPT opens an Introw sign-in to authorise the connection. Sign in with your usual Introw account and grant access. There's no API key or secret to paste — the connection is scoped to your own Introw access.

Step 3 – Start exploring
Open a new chat and try something like:

  • Check Introw for my partners with pending deal registrations

  • Generate a QBR for Amazon.

  • Who are my most active partners in the last 90 days?

ChatGPT pulls your live Introw data and responds in full context. From here, the possibilities are wide open.

What you can do

Once the connection is live, your team can use ChatGPT to work with live Introw data in natural language. For example:

  • "Which of my partners have pending deal registrations this week?"

  • "Show me the commission status for our Gold tier partners."

  • "Pull everything Introw has on Amazon into one summary."

  • "Which partners haven't been active in the last 30 days?"

  • "Register a new deal for Acme — roughly $40k, closing next month, sourced by our reseller."

  • "Generate a QBR for our largest partner."

ChatGPT reasons across your live partner data, surfaces insights instantly, and helps you act — all enforcing the exact same permissions you already have in Introw.

Permissions and data security

ChatGPT's access mirrors your Introw access exactly — the same data, the same actions, the same boundaries. If you can see it or do it in Introw, ChatGPT can too. If you can't, neither can ChatGPT.

On top of that, you're in full control of how ChatGPT behaves. For each capability — like adding comments, retrieving tier information, updating deals or creating tasks — you can choose one of three modes:

Mode

What it means

Allowed

ChatGPT performs the action automatically

🔔 Approval required

ChatGPT asks for your confirmation before acting

🚫 Blocked

ChatGPT cannot perform this action at all

This means you can move fast where you trust it, and stay in control where it matters. For example, you might allow ChatGPT to read all partner data freely, require approval before it adds comments, and block it from updating deal stages entirely — all at once.

Frequently asked questions

Does ChatGPT store my Introw data? No. Your Introw data is fetched in real time when you ask a question and is scoped to your session — it isn't persisted between conversations. Tool results do pass through OpenAI's infrastructure as part of your chat; review OpenAI's privacy documentation for full details.

Can other ChatGPT users see my partner data? Absolutely not. The MCP connection is tied to your individual Introw account, and your data is never shared with other users.

Why can't I see the Introw app in ChatGPT? On Business, Enterprise and Edu, the app must be published by a workspace admin before it appears for everyone. Check with your ChatGPT admin that Introw has been published under Settings → Apps. On Plus or Pro, make sure you've enabled Developer Mode yourself first.

Do I need a specific Introw plan to use this? This feature is available on all Introw paid plans. On the ChatGPT side, you'll need a paid plan that supports Developer Mode and custom MCP connectors.
