Attribute revenue via a customfield picklist in Salesforce

Using a picklist field in Salesforce to attribute partnership revenue can be done by following the next steps.

Create a custom property (on opportunity level) with a picklist as data type

Step 1: Go to Setup —> Object Manager —> Opportunity

Step 2: Click on Fields & Relationships

Step 3: Create a new field

Step 4: Choose data type: Picklist or Picklist (Multi-select*)

*In case you want to attribute multiple partners to the same opportunity we advice to choose a Picklist (Multi-select).

Step 5: Name your customfield and assign values

  • Field Label: This is up to you to decide, we’ve gone for “Reseller

  • Values: Add the custom property values that you relate with your partners

Introw Tip: Make sure to add the custom field to the opportunity page layout.

Start attributing your partners to your opportunities

Within the opportunity you link your partners via the picklist values and Introw will automatically link them to the correct partner accounts.
