Setting up a Commission Plan
A commission plan is designed to create visibility towards your partner on the expected commission they are entitled to when they are closing deals.
Follow the steps below to create and manage your commission plans:
Navigate to commission > Plans
In the left hand navigation click "Commission" and select the "Plans" menu item.
Create a new commission plan
Click "Create Commission Plan" and enter a name (e.g., Partner Retainer program, Flat fee demo incentive, Upsell incentive, etc..
Define the filter conditions
Configure for which deals the commission calculated should be triggered by using filters.
Define the type of reward and frequency
Specify the type of reward for the commission plan, such as a fixed amount or % percentage of a sale.Make sure to select on which deal property the commission should be calculated. (E.g: based on deal amount, annual recurring revenue, annual contract value or any other CRM deal property).
You can define the commission frequency to indicate when your partners will be rewarded with their earned commissions.
This can be set as a one-time, a monthly (MRR) or yearly (ARR) frequency and recurring with different percentages per month or year if needed.
You have a clear overview on your commission plans and which partners are linked to it.
How to Assign a Commission Plan
There are two ways to link a partner to a commission plan, depending on whether you are managing a single relationship or performing a bulk update.
Method 1: Individual Assignment via Partner Detail
Use this method for bespoke agreements or when onboarding a single partner.
Navigate to the Partner overview and click on the specific partner's name to open their Partner Detail page.
Locate the Portal Info section.
Choose the Commission Plan dropdown and select the desired plan.
Note on Saving: There is no "Save" button in this section; the system utilizes auto-save functionality and will apply your selection immediately.
Method 2: Bulk Assignment via Multi-Actions
Use this method to update several partners simultaneously—for example, when launching a new seasonal incentive or migrating a specific group to a better commission plan.
Open the Partner Overview list.
Use the checkboxes on the left to select all applicable partners.
Click the Multi-Actions button located at the top of the table.
Select Edit > Commission Plan from the dropdown menu.
Choose the Commission plan and click Update to apply the changes to all selected partners.
